Fronted by the highly controversial and intimidating Glen Benton, it's pretty safe to say that no one despises Christianity and organized religion more than this guy. Consisting of super fast blast beats (which were still a fresh and seldom used drum technique in '89) vicious high/low pitched vocals, and amazing riffs and songs, it was disturbing enough to propel the album to sales in excess of over 100,000 copies in the USA. A feat that even commercially marketable bands seldom reach. Benton and Deicide are uncompromising, maliciously evil, ruthless and will probably burn in hell for all of eternity; which is why they are one of my favourite bands. Go ahead and try to bust out 'Dead By Dawn', 'Lunatic Of God's Creation' and 'Sacrificial Suicide' without bashing your own, or someone else’s head against a wall. Not possible. Essential!!!
