The term Metal Supergroup is probably rarely as applicable as it is in this case. Down is fronted by former Pantera vocalist Phil Anselmo, and fleshed out by the aforementioneds bass player Rex Brown, guitarists Kirk Windstein and Pepper Keenan (of Crowbar and Corrosion of Conformity fame respectively) and Eyehategod drummer Jimmy Bower. The troupe have been at it since the early 90's and look to be making Down their sole focus. Third album 'Over The Under' is ballsy Southern Rock mixed with kick ass trad metal, played by guys who not only understand it, but have it running in their veins... literally!
